Obey God when we get CONVICTED..

Obey God when we get CONVICTED....

Now how do we know if  the conviction that we feel is from God and it's the right thing to do?

If it's in the Bible

Now I encourage you to read the Bible, for it is the best guide in our life.

Now when these things enter your mind read the Bible, study God's Word.

More about conviction

We can see that in the story Saul was convicted by God when God used a light from heaven that flashed around him, and God immediately spoke to Saul as it says in Acts 9:4-6. God convicted Saul that he was doing a very wrong thing. He was persecuting Jesus.

But Judas got convicted too! He was convicted that he had done the wrong thing, he betrayed his Rabbi and his Friend, Jesus.

We can see that both of them got convicted but their acts of obedience was different.

More about Obeying

Both of them knew who God is and His laws:

Saul was a student of Gamaliel in Acts 22:2-5(check your bibles) and Judas as we all know is a disciple of Christ.

but Saul did the right thing, He followed God, He became more intimate with Jesus and served God with his all. God even changed his name to Paul as a sign that he changed his ways and is truly a follower of Christ.

but Judas did the wrong thing, yes he was convicted alright! But rather than obeying Jesus to get back on the right track, he chose to end his life.

When we get Convicted

examples:

we feel a weird sensation in our gut and we know that it is not the right thing to do.

our situation can convict us that we are doing something wrong, like financial debt, we may not be handling God's blessing of money well or maybe we're spending to much.

our circumstances, sometimes God gives us circumstances that are very hard for us. It is to show us that we are not listening to Him, that we are headed the wrong way.

These are some of the examples of God's convictions. All we have to do is choose,

Listen to Him and obey Him or ignore and continue heading to the wrong path.

Challenge:

Choose: Paul or Judas ?

if Paul then obey God when we get CONVICTED...

if Judas, I pray that God will give you a conviction that will surely lead you to Him.
